CITY, I.A. (NewsDakota.com)- For the second straight year both Jamestown College basketball teams are headed to the NAIA National Tournament and they both will begin their quest for a title Thursday.

The men will play 2nd-ranked Cardinal Stritch at Noon on Thursday in Point Lookout, MO. Its the ninth appearance in school history for the Jimmie men, who haven’t won a game in the National Tournament since 2004.

Last season, they fell in heartbreaking fashion to St. Francis (Ind.) in the opening round. This season Jamestown defeated No. 9 Rochester College in the semi-finals of the A.I.I. Tournament to receive an automatic bid. They could potentially rematch with the Warriors, should both teams win their opening game.

Pregame will be at 11:45am on Q101 with Mark Potts on the call.

The women will be making their third appearance in the last four years and fifth overall. Their season ended in the “Sweet 16” to eventual champion Northwestern College a year ago.

Their opponent will be Menlo College (CA) who is a No. 5-seed and winners of the Cal-Pac. Coverage begins at 1:30pm Thursday on 103.1 The Raven.
