(NewsDakota.com) A team from District 1 will be a representative at the State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament next weekend in Minot.
The Milnor Bison defeated the Fargo Oak Grove Grovers 73-70 in the Region I Championship game to punch their ticket to the State Tournament. Milnor returns to the tournament for the first time since 2004, and becomes the first team in District 1 since 2009 to make it out of Region 1.
In the third place game, the Maple Valley Raiders defeated the Central Cass Squirrels 70-55; the first time this season in which the Raiders took down the Squirrles.
As the representative from Region I, the Bison will take on the winner from Region 5 in the second game on Thursday March 9 at the Minot State Dome.
