marked the start of the Squirt International Hockey Tournament in Fargo. The Fargo Youth Hockey Association Squirt International Hockey Tournament is in it’s 28th year , drawing teams at the Squirt A & B levels to the Fargo – Moorhead, Red River Valley Region from across the United States and Canada for our 3-day Tournament. Started in 1985 as an 8 team local tournament the FYHA Squirt International Hockey Tournament has grown in stature and reputation across the country to be know as the “Worlds Greatest Squirt Hockey Tournament” with 64 teams in the A division and 64 teams in the B division.
The Squirt Olympics was todays event, the Olympics included a Goalie Race, Puck Relay Race, Target Shoot – Out and an Obstacle Course Race. Every member of the Valley City Vipers Squirt Hockey team competed in an event. Corey Nelson was one of the participants in the Obstacle Course and brought home the Gold Medal! Corey received a medal and a New Bauer Hockey Stick for marking the fastest time on the difficult course.
The Vipers will take on the Thief River Falls Gold tomorrow at 11AM.
