LAKE (NewsDakota.com)  The District 7 boys basketball tourney concluded last night with three games at the Devils Lake Sports Center.  Day three was originally scheduled Monday night, but due to bad weather, the final day was held last night.  Here are the results.

Region Qualifier – #5 New Rockford/Sheyenne 65  #7 Warwick 48

Region Qualifier – #2 Harvey/Wells County 55  #4 Lakota/Adams-Edmore 34

Championship – #1 Four Winds/Minnewaukan 54  #3 Carrington 51

Carrington was down 28-16 at the half, but Sr. Austin Johnson sparked the Cardinals to 21 third quarter points but it wasn’t enough as the Indians came out on top and are the 2013 District 7 Champs.  Johnson had 20 followed by Soph. Seth Abaurrea with 12 for Carrington.  FWM Indians were led by Sr. Center Collin Delorme with 14.

Carrington was 19/39 from the field for 48%,  3/10 for 30% from 3-point land and 10/18 for 55% from the charity stripe.

The Boys Region 4 Tourney will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday February 25-26, & 28th at the Devils Lake Sports Center.  Teams from District 7 and District 8 will be competing against each other starting at 3pm.

February 25th, Monday
First Round

Game 1 – 3pm – District 8 #1 North Star (#2 in the state; 20-1) vs. District 7 #4 New Rockford-Sheyenne (13-8)

Game 2 – District 7 #2 Carrington (18-4) vs. District 8 #3 Munich-Starkweather (14-8)

Game 3 – District 7 #1 Four Winds-Minnewaukan (#5 in the state; 19-2) vs. District 8 #4 Benson County (7-15)

Game 4 – District 8 #2 St. John (17-5) vs. District 7 #3 Harvey-Wells County (13-9)
