(NewsDakota.com) The Carrington girls basketball team was in action last night after a week off. The Cards held close for three quarters, but the Wildcats 6’0 Sr. Forward Becca Eberle scored six of her ten points in the fourth quarter and sparked Benson County to a 46-34 win over Carrington. The Cardinals drop to 11-5 overall, #10 Benson County improves to 16-1 overall, their only loss coming to North Star back on January 17th.
Carrington was leading at halftime 20-18, but Sr. Sara Schwanke and Eberle took charge and scored a combined 18 points to pull ahead in the second half. The Cards only scored three points in the fourth quarter. Carrington was led by Jr. Kayla Hochhalter with 12 followed by Jr. Jacey Englehorn with 10, who replaced the injured Josey Page (torn ACL) in the starting lineup. Six apiece for Seniors Breanna Barton and Nikki Braaten.
Benson County was led by Schwanke with 16, her average.
Carrington had 26 turnovers compared to 16 for the Wildcats.
