(NewsDakota.com) The Jamestown High School boys hockey team started their playoff push with a back and forth offensive onslaught against the Bottineau/Rugby Braves; but in the end, the Jays were able to hold off the rush and came up with a 9-7 victory.
Jamestown was trailing 2-0 early on in the contest, and then the Jays offensive erupted with six unanswered goals. Bottineau fought back and pulled to within a goal in the third period; but Jamestown scored an empty netter to ice the game and seal the victory. The two teams combined to score a WDA post-season high in goals for a single game.
Alex Williams had five goals in the victory for Jamestown, Jakobi Lux added another two, and Jake Stillwell had the other two.
With the win, the Jays are now 12-10 overall and 11-6 in the WDA. They will next take on the Bismarck Century Patriots on Friday, the number one seed in the tournament who cruised past Hazen/Beulah 12-0 earlier on Thursday.
