CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City High School wrestling team qualified 13 wrestlers for the State Tournament during the EDC Regional on Saturday in Grand Forks.

Valley City’s Zach Doty took home a region title after posting a 3-0 record at 170 pounds. Shane Undem finished third at 145 pounds after going 3-1 at the tournament. Four wrestlers took fourth place for Valley City. The top eight finishers in each weight class advanced to state.

As a team, Valley City finished in 6th, just three points behind Wahpeton and five behind Fargo North. West Fargo won the team title with 302 points.
