N.D. – North Dakota Career and Technical Education (CTE) concentrators who took the eleventh grade ND State Assessment demonstrated a higher percent proficiency score in math and reading compared to all students who took the eleventh grade ND State Assessments.  

For the reading assessment, 77.1 percent of CTE concentrators had a score of proficient or advanced proficient on the test, compared to 66.2 percent of all students.  For the math assessment, CTE concentrator’s proficiency rate was 63.7 percent compared to 53.7 percent of all students.  The high school graduation rate was also higher for CTE concentrators compared to all students, 94.7 percent and 86.2 percent respectively. 

When breaking the information down by ethnicity, Native American CTE concentrators also showed higher proficiency percentages in the math and reading assessments, and graduation rate.  The graduation rate for CTE concentrators was 85.2 percent compared to 62 percent of all Native American students, a 23.2 percentage point difference.
