CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) City Assessor Sandy Hansen says there may be good news for those who qualify for the state Homestead Credit if Senate bill 2371 passes during this legislative session.
She told the city commission that while helping a Valley City family applying for the credit she discovered something unsettling concerning special assessments.
Hansen says there is an amendment in Senate Bill 2371 that would remove that provision.
A hearing on Senate bill 2371 will be next week. For those 65 and older who are disabled or meet financial guidelines are eligible for the Homestead Credit in North Dakota.
