SOUTH KOREA (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown man Blaine Schulz is a five-year veteran of the Special Olympics World Games, and on Sunday Schulz earned a Silver Medal for his hard work.
Schulz, who is one of just two Team USA representatives this year from North Dakota, placed second in the 200-meter and his Team USA squad earned fourth in the 4×400-meter relay.
Schulz finished seventh in the 400-meter yesterday — which was his final race of the Games.
According to a Facebook page dedicated to Schulz’s journey to South Korea for the Games, Schulz said after his final race, “I just couldn’t catch him. I left it all out there on the track,” after finishing behind a tough competitor from Saudia Arabia.
Schulz will return home to his family on Friday.
