N.D. (AP) – A North Dakota man accused of killing the mother of his child and three other people in Minot two years ago has been convicted on four counts of murder.
The Minot Daily News reports that the jury found 28-year-old Omar Mohamed Kalmio guilty on the four counts of murder in the Jan. 2011, shooting deaths of 19-year-old Sabrina Zephier, her mother, brother and mother’s boyfriend.
Kalmio is a Somali national who says he is in the U.S. under political asylum. He was working in the western North Dakota oil patch at the time of the killings. His sentence is pending. Kalmio’s trial began Jan. 23.
