(NewsDakota.com)- For the second straight year the Blue Jay girls hockey team has set a record for wins in a season. Last year they won 13 games on their way to a fifth place finish at state. After last nights win in Grand Forks, Jamestown won their 14th of the season.
The Jays took down Grand Forks for the third time this season by a score of 5-3. With her team down 3-0 in the second period, Amber Schaack took over scoring the next three goals to tie the game.
Elly Milender scored the go-ahead goal and then Schaack added her fourth of the game to put the Jays in front 5-3.
Carissa Finck stopped 27 of the 30 shots she faced in another outstanding effort from the Jamestown net minder. The Jays improved to 14-5 and currently sit in a tie with Bismarck for the No. 3 spot in the state.
Jamestown will host Mandan on Tuesday night. There are some chances for the Jays to extend their wins record with four games remaining including a season ending match-up with undefeated West Fargo.
