(NewsDakota.com) The Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds came out flying out the game against the Oakes High School boys basketball team on Friday night and never looked back. The Tornadoes were swept up by the Warbirds 72-34 in the final home game and District 1 game of the 2012-13 regular season.

The Warbirds were up only six after one at 16-10, but outscored the Tornadoes 28-8 in the second quarter to pad the lead even further. The Warbirds (9-5 5-2 District 1) had 25 points from Luis Vasquez and 19 from Jeff Illies. Oakes (4-13 2-5 District 1) was lead in scoring by 10 points from Stephan Quant.

Next up for the Tornadoes is a date a week from Saturday, February 9 in Wapheton against the Kindred Vikings.
