CITY (NewsDakota.com) – Coming off a mid-season break in their schedules, the Hi-Liner boys and girls basketball teams resume conference play Friday night with a pair of big EDC games.

Valley City’s boys (4-6 overall, 0-4 EDC) are on the road at Grand Forks Central, and the Hi-Liner girls (8-3 overall, 2-3 EDC) host Grand Forks Central. Both games are worth two points in the EDC standings.

Grand Forks Central’s girls are win-less in EDC play, and the boys have just one victory, which came by forfeit against Fargo North.

Following Friday’s home and away games, the Hi-Liner teams are both home on Saturday for a doubleheader against Fargo Davies. The Davies girls are 4-6 in the EDC, and the Davies boys are 6-3. Both Saturday’s games are worth one point in the EDC standings. It is all conference games on Valley City’s schedule the rest of the season.

The Hi-Liner boys were last in action Jan. 19 when they knocked off Lisbon by a score of 45-32. Valley City’s girls also had their last game that day, losing a 46-43 overtime heart-breaker to Maple Valley in the Barnes County Tournament championship game.

Friday’s boys game can be heard on KOVC 1490 starting with pregame at about 7:15 p.m. Both the girls and boys varsity game on Saturday can be heard on Q101.1 starting with pregame at about 3 p.m.
