N.D. (Prairie Public News) – A Jamestown state representative has introduced a bill to make supplemental state grants available for head start programs.

District 12 Democrat Jessica Haak says her bill would make six point one million dollars available for those grants. She says that would be in addition to the federal money head start programs receive.

Haak says statewide, there are 950 to 1000 kids on waiting lists for head start.
