(NewsDakota.com) It was a busy weekend for Carrington sports teams, both basketball teams were in action, wrestlers were at New Salem and the Cardinaires performed at State.
BOYS BASKETBALL: FOUR WINDS/MINNEWAUKAN 74 CARRINGTON 59
Two of the top 10 teams in the state, both from District Seven, were in action on Friday night (Jan. 25th) in Ft. Totten. No. 6 Four Winds/Minnewaukan beat No. 5 Carrington by a final score of 74-59. The Cards suffer their first loss of the season and fall to 13-1 overall, 3-1 in District Seven, The Indians improve to 12-2, 5-0 in District Seven.
The Cards were led by Seniors Alex Nelson and Taylor Skytland with 15 apiece. They had four players in double figures, Seniors Austin Johnson and Scott Burnham added 10 each as well. Burnham had three blocked shots.
The Indians were led by Sr. Austin Longie with 29 points followed by Sr. Collin Delorme with 18.
Next up for the Cards is tomorrow night at home against District Seven opponent Harvey/Wells County. Pregame can be heard around 7p on AM 1600 KDAK.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: CARRINGTON 60 BEACH 51
The Carrington girls basketball team traveled to Bismarck Century High School to play the Beach Buccaneers out of District 13. The Cards beat the Buccaneers and ended their seven game win streak 60-51. Carrington improves to 8-4 overall, Beach falls to 7-3 overall.
Carrington was led by Jr. Kayla Hochhalter with 20 followed by Sr. Nikki Braaten with 12, Sr. Josey Page had 10. Hochhalter had two blocks.
The Buccaneers were led by Jr. Hailee Farstveet with 27 points. Jr. Cydni Stedman with 10.
Next up for the Cards will be this Thursday at New Salem. Pregame can be heard around 6:30p on AM 1600 KDAK.
WRESTLING: RUNNER UP AT EAST-WEST TOURNEY IN NEW SALEM
The wrestlers were in action on Friday and Saturday at the East-West Tourney in New Salem. South Border won the tourney followed by Carrington. Sr. Cordell Schroeder won the heavyweight championship. More results below:

CARDINAIRES: CHAMPIONS IN DRILL
The Carrington Cardinaires dance team were at State Dance on Friday and Saturday, January 25th and 26th at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. They competed against 10 other teams in four different categories. The Cardinaires took home first in one category and runner-up in the other three.

The Cardinaires will be performing at Carrington High School during halftime of the girls JV game tonight, and halftime of the boys varsity game tomorrow night.
