Carrington had a lot of good looks at the basket early in the game, but couldn’t get one to fall until about three minutes into the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter, Carrington led 10-8. Jr. Jacey Engelhorn sparked the second quarter with a three pointer and a field goal to put her team up 24-17 at halftime. The cards stretched that lead to 10 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets put on some full court pressure causing some Carrington turnovers and getting within three points, but Jr. Forward Kayla Hochhalter made some key free throws to put the Hornets away.
Hochhalter led the way for the Cards with 17 points, followed by Engelhorn with 10. Sr. Center Breana Barton added six points and three blocked shots.
Sophomore Center Alecia Koropatnicki led the way for the Hornets with 15.
