N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays fought off a third period surge by the Minot Majettes Friday night at Wilson Arena on their way to a 4-2 victory.

The Blue Jays led 2-0 heading into the third, but two Majette goals in the opening eight minutes knotted things up at 2-2.

Jamestown responded with 6:08 remaining in the period thanks to a goal by Torri Kamlitz, and furthered their lead two minutes later with Amber Schaack’s 23rd goal of the season. Schaack and Steph Kamlitz had punched in the Jays’ opening two goals.

The win moves Jamestown to 11-5 overall and snaps a 3-game losing streak that stemmed back to Jan. 8. The loss drops Minot to 7-9 overall, and they’ve now lost six of their last seven.

Jamestown takes on Williston (7-9 overall, 4-9 state) at Wilson Arena on Saturday with a 5 p.m. puck drop.
