N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A three percent increase in total tax revenue and a four percent jump in visitors from 2011 means another successful year for tourism in the city of Jamestown.

The numbers were presented at Buffalo City Tourism’s annual meeting Tuesday. The combined lodging and restaurant tax revenue, totaling near $300,000 in 2012, was up three percent from the 2011 totals.

In addition, visitors were up four percent to the city’s three largest attractions – the World’s Largest Buffalo Monument, the National Buffalo Museum and Frontier Village.

With Sneider exiting the executive director position, Searle Swedlund is set to use his 14 years of experience at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., to take over the role. Sneider, who will help Swedlund until March and then later re-locate to Minnesota, says the future for Jamestown tourism is bright …
