CITY (NewsDakota.com) – There were no huge changes for area college basketball teams in this week’s edition of the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday.
The Valley City State women are down one spot this week to No. 13 after suffering a home loss to Johnson and Wales. They are currently 16-3 on the season.
The Jamestown College women fell two spots this week to No. 17. They are also 16-3 on the season.
The Mayville State women gained more votes this week and are currently the second team outside of the Top 25. The Comets are to a 15-1 start so far this season. Their only loss has come against Dakota Wesleyan, a team that is also receiving votes in the poll.
In the Top 25 men’s poll, Valley City State remained at No. 20 this week with a 14-4 record. The Dakota State men are receiving votes in the poll. The Trojans are 12-5.
Area teams will all be in action Saturday and Sunday during the women’s and men’s Dakota Tip-Off Tournament at the Jamestown Civic Center.
Valley City State plays Mayville State at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Jamestown College plays Dakota State at 5 and 7 p.m. All four games can be heard on the Dakota Country Radio Network.
On Sunday, winners will play winners and losers will play losers from Saturday’s games. VCSU and Jamestown College games on Sunday can be heard on TED 98.3/102.7.
