(NewsDakota.com) Here are the unofficial minutes from the City Council meeting that was held on Monday, January 14th.
The owner of out-lot A on the west end of Carrington originally wanted to put up some storage units, but city council denied it a couple of months ago. So the owner made a proposal to the council to rezone out-lot A from r1 single family to r2 multifamily. City Council granted the request. Mayor Don Frye said that there is a possibility for an apartment complex to be built on the lot now.
A motion was approved to rent out the Armory for a wedding dance and reception in February 2014, a deposit will be required and alcohol will be served.

JDA:
A motion was approved for the JDA to visit about five sites around town to see if their suitable for building new housing. They’ll look at water, sewer, street costs and other factors, if its feasable, the city will see if the owner wants to sell the property.
AIRPORT AUTHORITY:
Dr. Jay Bauer will step down as the airport authority president. Mayor Don Frye made a motion to appoint himself as a temporary board member, motion was approved. Because the airport is getting busier, one of the top priorities will be looking at getting more hangars.
POLICE REPORT:
A motion was approved to start looking for another full-time police officer.
PUBLIC WORKS:
A water main break happened at the northwest corner of the grade school, it was leaking into a storm sewer. School was not interrupted.
