CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) An option, Barnes County is exploring is a joint agreement with Stutsman and Richland Counties.

Emergency Manager Kim Franklin said the agreement involves sharing equipment. But she said local dispatchers in Barnes County would remain employed if that joint agreement option is approved and implemented.

Franklin said if a Barnes County work station is down due to an equipment failure the dispatchers in the other 2 counties would take calls in Barnes County until the system is repaired.

Barnes County Commission President Eldred Knutson said the county will study all options on this issue before making a final decision.
