N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For the first time this young season, the Jamestown Blue Jay basketball teams took to the road and both were victorious.
Kyra Dewald’s 30 points paced the girls team in the opening game as they defeated the Turtle Mountain Bravettes 73-69.
The win puts Head Coach Andy Skunberg’s squad at 4-1 coming off the team’s first and only loss of the season one week ago at Valley City.
For the boys, they were led by 17 points off the bench from junior Ashton Johnson as Head Coach Kelly Kessler’s team defeated the Braves 71-67.
It marked the first victory of the season for the boys team, as they improve their record to 1-4 overall.
Both teams return home to Jerry Meyer Arena on Tuesday for a matchup with Devils Lake.
