CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) It’s been a week since the tragic shooting in Connecticut, killing 26 people. Local school districts and law enforcement officials are meeting to discuss the best options to protect students and teachers.

Valley City Chief of Police Fred Thompson said he plans to discuss protection strategy with school officials in Valley City.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said he also has fielded questions of concern from school districts in the county after the school shooting last Friday in Connecticut.
