(NewsDakota.com)- A pair of basketball games highlight tonight’s schedule. Both the Jimmie women and the Blue Jay girls will be in action today.
The Jimmie women will play in their last home game until January 19th. Jamestown College is currently ranked No. 11 in the NAIA Top-25 and will host the No. 6 Chargers of Briar Cliff. The two met a year ago with Briar Cliff winning the game on a last second shot.
The two have some common opponents each have played 3-time defending national champion Northwestern and Dordt. The Jimmies beat Dordt, but lost to NWC. The Chargers fared the exact opposite, a win over the Red Raiders and a loss to the Defenders.
“They didnt play very well against Dordt,” JC coach Greg Ulland said this morning, “just like we didn’t play well against Northwestern. But they took No. 1 Concordia right down to the wire.”
Tip-off tonight is slated for 6pm with the pregame show beginning at 5:45pm. The game can be heard on TED FM 98.3 and online at NewsDakota.com.
The Blue Jay girls, who are ranked No. 4 in the new poll, will travel to Minot tonight to battle the Magicians. The Magi are 0-2 with losses to top-ranked Bismarck and Turtle Mountain.
Jamestown is coming off a pair of impressive wins, beating Davies to open the season and also taking out Mandan in overtime despite 25+ turnovers.
The game will be on 1400 KQDJ tonight at 7:30pm.
