CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Another significant cut in property taxes was proposed by Governor Dalrymple during his budget address last week.

State senator Larry Robinson said more than $750 million in proposed cuts for local subdivisions could reduce property tax mills by nearly 30 mills per school district.

Valley City School Superintendent Dean Koppelman says that’s welcome news but he’s worried school districts would lose local control if the legislature decides to fund subdivisions totally.

State senator Larry Robinson said that’s unlikely.

Robinson and state Representative Dwight Kiefert accepted questions of concern by the Valley City School board during their regular meeting Monday night.
