(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School wrestling team headed down to Faulkton South Dakota on Saturday and came back with a team tournament title.
The Tornadoes finished with a team total of 235.5 points, easily edging out Potter County who finished with 123.5 and took second. The host team from Faulkton was third with 123 points.
Oakes had five champions: Brady Ptacek at 113 lbs, Erik Loepp at 120, Kaleb Sell at 126, Cole Ehrlin at 170 and Michael Kelly at heavyweight. Caden Coleman and Trenton Ptacek finished second at 132 and 152 lbs respectively. Jed Bopp and Cole Kelly were third at 182 and 220, and Austin Kelly and Chris Tyre were fourth at 138 and 145 lbs.
Oakes heads to Hillsboro for a triangular with Hillsboro and Kindred Tuesday night. Coverage on KDDR 1220 AM/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starts around 6:45 p.m.
