(NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals Boys Basketball team traveled to Wimbledon to play Barnes County North in Class B Boys Basketball tonight. The Cards came out with a 66-40 victory over the Bison. Carrington improves to 2-0, Barnes County North drops to 1-1.
Carrington started a little shaky in the first quarter, but 6’5 Senior captains Scott Burnham and Austin Johnson came alive and scored six points apiece making it tied at 19 at the end of the first quarter. They also scored six apiece in the second quarter to make it 35-24 Carrington at the end of the first half.
The Cards came out strong in the second half and scored 22 points in the third quarter compared to BCN’s 9 points, and ending up winning the game 66-40. Burnham led the way for Carrington with 26 points, followed by Johnson with 16. Coming off the bench for the Cards was 5’11 Junior Casey Murphy scoring seven, and Alex Nelson with six.
Leading the way for the Bison was 6’0 Seniors Jacoby Kramlich with 14 and Brad Clemons with 10.
