CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson said it’s imperative that the city reconstruct its police department evidence room.

Thompson said he’ll submit an estimate on the construction cost for the city commission. He stressed the seriousness of the project.

Valley City commissioner Mary Lee Nielsen said she believes the evidence room should be moved out of the basement of the police station citing possible future flooding issues.

She wasn’t sure where a new evidence room should be relocated.
