CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City State men’s basketball team faces a stiff test Tuesday night in Moorhead.

The Vikings are on the road to take on the Dragons of MSU-Moorhead, an NCAA Division II team off to a perfect start in the 2012-13 season.

The Vikings enter Tuesday’s game with a 5-2 record. It is officially an exhibition game for the Vikings and will not count towards their overall record.

The Dragons enter with a 4-0 regular season record, and their only loss so far this season came in overtime during an exhibition game against North Dakota State University, a team that routed VCSU earlier this season. MSUM has wins against Concordia College, Minnesota-Morris, Southwest Baptist and Lincoln Missouri.

Tuesday night’s game can be heard on KOVC 1490, KDDR 1220 and KDAK 1600. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. with tip off scheduled for 7 p.m.

MSUM is led by by Anthony Tucker, a 6-foot-4 senior guard averaging 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists through the first four games. MSUM has been deadly from 3-point range so far this season, shooting 40 percent (32-79).

VCSU has been led by their own dynamic guard in Sekani Milligen, a 6-foot-4 senior averaging 19 points and 5 rebounds per game. VCSU has four players averaging double digit points, including AJ McDonald (14), Gus Kueber (13) and Aaron Duske (11).

VCSU’s women are also in action Tuesday night, on the road at University of Mary for an exhibition game. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
