CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Measure 4 received wide support in Tuesday’s election. City County Health Tobacco Prevention Coordinator Vicki Voldal Rosenau said every county in North Dakota supported the smoke free measure that bans smoking in public places and 20 feet from public buildings.
She says the people have spoken out loud and clear second hand smoke is no longer welcome in public places.
According to the North Dakota Secretary of State website once the measure passes the smoking ban goes into effect statewide 30 days later and in this case December 6.
Meanwhile the “Great American Smoke-out” is set for November15. Rosenau said it’s a day when everyone is encouraged to go tobacco free to improve their overall health.
