N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock Lions will get a chance this year to improve upon their fourth place finish in 2011 at the state volleyball tournament as they punched their ticket to the big dance Thursday night with a Region 3 Tournament victory over South Border.
The Lions dominated the Mustangs, sweeping their opponents 25-19, 25-13, 25-14 en route to victory.
Nicole Nieuwsma led the way with 13 kills, followed by McKenna Flyberg with 10 of her own. Tiffaney Gerving contributed 31 assists and led the team in digs also with 17.
The Lions will face the Region 7 champion Thursday at the state tournament at the Minot State University Dome.
