(NewsDakota.com) – For the second time this season, Wahpeton swept Valley City in three sets. The second of those wins kept their season alive. The Huskies eliminated Valley City in a loser-out match by scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 at the East Region volleyball tournament at Fargo Davies High School.

Wahpeton broke open a tight first set by scoring the final seven points to win 25-16. The Huskies scored the opening five points of the second set, and never trailed en route to an easy 25-16 win. The Hi-Liners jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in set three, but Wahpeton rallied to tie it 5-5 and 7-7 before taking the lead for good. Valley City struggled with their offensive attack the entire match, as errors consistently limited Hi-Liner rallies.

Ellington Norwood and Megan Klosterman lead Wahpeton with six kills. Klosterman and Molly Wynn each had four blocks. Setter Laura Berger added 15 assists, 3 aces, and 10 digs for the Huskies. Claire Olson, Dierra Diegel, and Jasmine Stevens all had five kills to lead Valley City. Jessica Denholm added four kills, 12 assists, and 6 digs.

The Huskies will play in a state qualifier Saturday morning at 11:00 versus West Fargo. The Hi-Liners end the season at 19-19.
