N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It was almost as though a new team hit the court for sets two through four Thursday night for Jamestown High volleyball as they shook off an opening set loss to Minot to then win each of the next three sets by a combined 32 points.

The 3-1 victory over the Majettes moves the second-seeded Blue Jays on to the semi-finals of the West Region Tournament, where they’ll square off against the No. 3 seed Dickinson High.

In Thursday’s win, the Blue Jays were led by14 kills from Addie Eamon in addition to 8 each from Billie Buchanan and Siri Jystad. Josie Hegerle had 27 assists and McKayla Orr tallied 24 digs.

The Jamestown/Dickinson match is the last of four scheduled for this evening at host site Mandan High School, with first serve set for approximately 7 p.m. The Blue Jays and the Midgets split their two regular season matches.

In the other semi-finals match, top-seed Century faces off against the No. 4 seed Bismarck High.

Coverage of tonight’s matchup between the Blue Jays and Midgets begins 15 minutes prior to first serve on Dakota Country KQDJ-AM 1400 and 97.1 FM.
