(NewsDakota.com) It was a really rough night to be a player or a fan of a District 1 team that was competing in the Region I Volleyball Tournament in Oakes. Three teams were swept in three games, while the other team was downed in only four games to complete a sweep by the four District 2 teams.
Matches one and two were both three game sweeps, with Central Cass knocking out Hankinson, and North Sargent falling to Fargo Oak Grove.
In the second two contests, the District 1 Champions and host team from Oakes were outed in a four game loss to Northern Cass by scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-12 and 25-18, and Kindred took down Milnor in three straight games.
Tuesday’s matchups feature Central Cass and Oak Grove followed by Kindred and Northern Cass. The two losers will play for third place on Thursday, while the two winners will play for the Regional Championship as well as a berth at the State Tournament.
