N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It was the last time that five 2012 senior Jamestown High Blue Jay volleyball players would take the court at Jerry Meyer Arena. How fitting to send them off on senior night with a 3-0 blanking of Bismarck High, which the Blue Jays were able to successfully do Tuesday night.

“They’re a great group of seniors and they’ve been a pleasure to coach,” said Coach Sara Hegerle during a postgame interview. “It was certainly emotional with those girls getting ready for this match tonight.”

Siri Jystad led the way for Jamestown with 10 kills. Josie Hegerle notched 15 assists. Rebekah Horgan had four aces. McKayla Orr led the team with 20 digs.

With the win, the Blue Jays move to 12-2 in the West Region and 22-7 overall, setting up a No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup Thursday night in Bismarck against Bismarck Century — who comes into the contest 13-1 in the West Region and 28-4 overall.

“Going into the season, being No. 1 in the region was one of our goals and we still have the opportunity to do that to end our season,” Coach Hegerle said.
