(NewsDakota.com) – The Maple Valley volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 set deficit Thursday night but could not quite complete the comeback as they fell to Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page in five sets.

The Spartans won two tight sets to open the match 26-24 and 25-23, but the Raiders rallied back with a 25-23 win in set three and a 25-20 win to force the fifth set, which FSHP won 15-10.

A balanced offensive attack paced the Raiders. Rylee Nudell had 13 kills, Megan Kasowski had 12 kills, Cassie Pautz tallied 10 kills and Katelyn Pueppke added nine.

Abbie Tinjum had 17 assists and Katie Pautz had four service aces.

Maple Valley is in action against Thursday, Oct. 11 for a District 2 match in Richland.
