(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, October 1.
Phase three of construction in the community is complete, however the Council voted to withhold the final payment for the project until seeding areas are addressed. Phase four construction is continuing, and paving is scheduled to commence the end of October, weather permitting.
Research is still be completed on needing to purchase replacement filters at the water treatment plant, and final details will be provided at the November meeting.
Oakes Police Chief Marke Roberts announced at the meeting that there has been a rise in the number of fights outside of city bars after closing time, and suggested that the penalty on the ordinance prohibiting consumption of alcohol in pubic areas be reviewed.
The next meeting is set for Monday November 5.
