CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City State volleyball team put together a 1-1 homecoming weekend, ending on a high note with a tight 3-1 victory over Dakota Wesleyan on Sunday at Graichen Gymnasium.
The Vikings got 12 kills from Jill Noeske and 10 kills from Aurissa Martens as they defeated Wesleyan 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22.
Alley Theroux added eight kills and Rachel Hummel had seven in the victory. Anna Neufeld had 21 assists and two service aces, and Stephanie Miller also had 21 assists.
On Friday, the Vikings were on the road in Jamestown, losing 19-25, 15-25, 23-25 to the Jimmies.
The Vikings are now 6-17 on the season. They’re in action again Thursday at Dickinson State. Valley City dropped a five-set match earlier this year against Dickinson. VCSU’s next home action is Oct. 6 when they host Williston State and Presentation College.
