(NewsDakota.com) – Jordan Haseleu and Austin Dixson connected for 226 yards and two touchdowns Friday night, and the Maple Valley-Enderlin Falcons needed every one of those yards.

The Falcons scored late in the fourth quarter Friday night to win a Region 1 showdown 26-22 over Northern Cass. Both teams entered the game 4-0 in region play and were ranked in the state’s Top 5 Poll.

In the end, the No. 4 Falcons were just a bit better than the No. 5 Jaguars. Thomas Lindgren’s 11-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winning score and capped off a wild fourth quarter that saw 28 points.

The Falcons led 12-8 entering the fourth quarter, but Tyler Kyllo scored from 25 yards out as Northern Cass took a 16-12 lead. MVE answered back when quarterback Jordan Haseleu found Austin Dixson for his second touchdown catch of the game.

Northern Cass again rallied with a one yard run by Kyllo, taking back the lead 22-20. But MVE answered back and capped the scoring with Lindgren’s late touchdown run.

The Falcons improve their record to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in Region 1. Northern Cass drops to 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the region.

Lindgren rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns, but most of MVE’s offense came through the air. Haseleu was just 8-for-19 with an interception, but those eight completions went for 283 yards and two touchdowns. Dixson caught six balls for 226 yards and two touchdowns, and Dan Lindgren had two receptions for 57 yards.

Northern Cass found its offense on the ground, rushing for 279 yards and three touchdowns.

Maple Valley-Enderlin is in action again Friday night against Milnor-North Sargent (3-3, 3-2 Region 1) The game is in Milnor. MNS is currently in a three-way tie for third place in the region with Oakes and Linton-HMB.
