CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Federal investigators have released their preliminary findings regarding the plane crash that killed legendary Kindred pilot Bob Odegaard.
The National Transportation Safety Board says Odegaard died after his vintage Corsair hit the ground in about a 10-degree nose down, wings-level altitude. The airplane was only about 100 feet above ground.
Odegaard was killed September 7 while practicing a barrel roll for an air show at the Valley City Airport.
Odegaad’s plane entered service with the U-S Navy in 1946 and was re-certified for exhibition and racing in July, 2011.
