CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner volleyball team was swept Tuesday night by one of the perennial powers in the Eastern Dakota Conference.

West Fargo served up a 25-20, 25-16, 25-20 victory over Valley City during the Tuesday match at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.

The 2-point loss in the EDC standings drops Valley City to 1-6 in EDC play and 7-10 overall this season. West Fargo improves to 6-2 in EDC play and 10-7 overall.

The Hi-Liners are in action again Thursday night at Grand Forks Central for another 2-point match that could have implications on the EDC Tournament play-in matches. Central is sporting a 3-6 record in EDC play, and is currently holding down the No. 6 spot in the EDC standings. A win by Valley City would help the Hi-Liners as they look to jump up into that No. 6 spot and avoid a play-in match.

Valley City at Grand Forks Central will be broadcast on KOVC 1490 on Thursday night with pregame beginning at about 6:35 p.m.
