(NewsDakota.com)- The Jamestown College Invitational finished up yesterday at the Jamestown Country Club with the Jimmie men and the Minot St. women winning their respective fields.
Tommy Rockis fired a final round 71 (1-under) to pace the Jimmies on their way to a first score below 300, they finished with a 294. Jake Bietz led after Day One, he finished second after a Monday score of 76.
Other Jimmies that scored were Tyler Baukol (158) and Chris Rochon (165).
The Viking men were third with a 635. Ryan Lenoue was top VCSU golfer with a 150, followed by Ben Sorenson (155), Casey Colemer (157) and Tyler Stevens (161).
Jamestown College did just enough to knock off Northern State who finished with a two-day total of 608, one stroke off the lead.
Minot State owned the women’s competition with a 141 stroke victory. Valley City State finished a distant second. Ashley Hinrichs was the low scorer for the Vikings with a 172.
Haley Christofferson was the next Viking in line with a 198, she finished ninth. Allison Tait shot a 218 which put her in 17th.
