CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner tennis team will begin their post-season push today.

Valley City hosts Wahpeton in the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) play-in match this afternoon.  The Hi-Liners won the right to host the match with a 6-3 win over the Huskies in the regular season.

Today’s match will follow the 3-2 format, meaning three singles and two double’s matches, with no play being able to play both singles and doubles.  The regular season match saw the Hi-Liners sweep the doubles matches for the win.

The winner advances to the EDC team tournament as the #8 seed, and will meet Grand Forks Red River, the 14-time defending state champion, in the opening round.  Both teams will send their individual players to the EDC Individual Tournament.  The tournament begins Thursday in Grand Forks.
