CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner volleyball team picked up it’s first Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) win in dominating fashion Thursday night.

Valley City swept Devils Lake 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-14) at the Hi-Liner Activity Center, working their second win of the week after a 3-0 defeat of Maple Valley Tuesday night in Tower City.

Head coach Katy Van Dyke said her team got a boost in the front row from Madison Taylor in Thursday night’s win.

The win sent Valley City to 1-4 in EDC play, vaulting them to seventh place in the league, and gave them a solid angle to host, or avoid, and EDC play-in match at the end of the season.  They are now 7-9 overall

Next week will bring two matches worth two  league points each to the Hi-Liner schedule, hosting West Fargo Tuesday night, then traveling to Grand Forks Central Thursday night.
