(NewsDakota.com) A few items of note came from the Oakes City Council’s monthly meeting for September.

The water treatment plant was a topic of discussion; as Moore Engineering gave proposals and cost estimates for their involvement of the project when it comes to the replacement of membranes. The Water Committee will review the project and discuss further at the next meeting.

Clean Up week in the city is playned for the week of October 8, and more details will be made know the week before. 

Estimates were made for making safety improvements and painting of the water tower, and the second reading of a sales tax request by the Oakes Police Department for $4,585 for upgrading of the department’s communication system carried.
