(NewsDakota.com)- Sierra Bennion broke through with her first win of the season at Prairie West Golf Course during the Mandan Invite. Bennion, a freshman, shot a final round 79 to take a two-shot victory.
“Her ball striking was as good as I’ve seen it this year,” said Coach Dean Kraft. “Players need to hit it pure in windy conditions and she did, especially on her approach shots. This will be the first of many for Sierra.”
The West Region Tournament and the state tournament will both be held at Prairie West in the coming weeks.
Jamestown as a team finished with a 403 which was good enough for fourth place behind Bismarck High.
The Blue Jays will play at Rolla Country Club on Monday for Belcourt’s invite.
