N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Horace couple was seriously injured after a deer struck the motorcycle they were riding on North Dakota Highway 26 west of Sibley.

The impact tipped the motorcycle to the ground causing it to roll and throw the occupants from the vehicle.

Mark and Valerie Gusaas (Goo-sus) were transported to Mercy Hospital and then airlifted to a Fargo hospital for treatment of injuries. The two were wearing helmets and full leather gear.

The couple was traveling with a group of motorcycles riding from Fargo to Jamestown part of a “Harley Owners Group” (“HOG”) annual ride.
