(NewsDakota.com) – The local Coats for Kids campaign is wrapping up this weekend. Lieutenant Teresa Brecto with the Jamestown Salvation Army says the drive has gone well so far as Ave Maria Village, The Salvation Army, One Hour Martinizing and LaMoure Credit Union collect winter clothing for area people in need.

Brecto says a week-long distribution of the items will be in October.

In Jamestown, the drive wraps up Saturday, but the drive at the LaMoure Credit Union will continue on. Donations can be dropped off at the Salvation Army, Ave Maria Village, One Hour Martinizing and the LaMoure Credit Union during regular business hours.

Tim Burchill with Ave Maria Village says they have had a tremendous response and have a whole office full of items that will go to the Salvation Army, including 10 hats that were personally knitted by a local woman to go with coats. He says even though the drive ends Saturday, they will still accept donations after that.
