CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) It was a sight that drew a number of people to get a quick snap shot with their camera’s as a Peregrine Falcon stood outside one of the doors of the Taco John’s restaurant in Valley City on Wednesday.
The bird was watching it’s reflection from a glass door for several minutes on Wednesday. Police were called and they contacted a Game & Fish Department official to investigate the bizarre behavior of the bird.
North Dakota Game Warden Mark Pollert says Valley City State University Associate Professor Bob Anderson and some students placed the Falcon into an animal holding cage and took care of the bird overnight.
Anderson tells newsdakota.com that the bird was transported the Red River Zoo in Fargo and will be taken to the Raptor Center in Minneapolis for treatment.
Anderson says the bird is suffering from some type of ailment but does not have a broken wing or any other type of injury.
